Rehearsal Etiquette

Our rehearsal etiquette will help you contribute to the success of the choir.  Between rehearsals, please prepare at home: study the score and listen to the music.  Bring a soft pencil to rehearsals to note the MD's comments.  Please do not chat during sectional rehearsals as it can be disruptive - and David may in any case be making points that apply to your section, too. If you have a mobile on, please ensure that it is on silent. Please do not leave the phone in sight, as flashing and vibrating can disturb your colleagues.

If you are late, please mark your attendance in the register. Members are  expected to attend rehearsals regularly in order to take part in concerts. If you cannot attend, please inform the register taker, membership secretary or section rep.  Those who do not attend the majority of rehearsals may not be allowed to perform in the concert. The final decision rests with the MD.

Please return all hired scores promptly to the Librarian, after rubbing out all pencil markings.  Anyone failing to return scores promptly may be charged a  fee.

The photograph shows us singing at a concert at Fairfield Halls. We usually wear formal dress at big occasions like that.  For our summer concert the men  dispense with DJs and appear in shirt-sleeves, sometimes with a red bow tie. The women dress less formally too.
