We were hoping to resume real-life rehearsals on 18 May.  We were gearing up for a return to St Matthew's Church - when, that very afternoon, the government "clarified" its advice to amateur choirs, namely that they were not allowed to meet in groups of more than six indoors (or 30 outdoors, for that matter).  So our plans to meet that night slammed into reverse, although not quickly enough to warn several members and our pianist Ian le Grice who turned up at the church.  Meanwhile our MD, David Gibson, was alerted on his train en route to Croydon and turned back.  So, sadly,  all our plans are back on hold, including the dry-run concert we hoped to stage at the end of June. If we dare look further ahead, we are still hoping to perform a revived programme of concerts, starting in November and with an exciting Christmas offering, Please see our Concerts page for our plans for 2021 and 2022.  Meanwhile we continue to rehearse the magnificent Bach Mass in B Minor, together with the several new pieces: the Misa Criolla, a hauntingly beautiful mass that uses Latin American and Creole rhythms; and a wonderful setting of poems by the Spanish genius Federico Lorca.
