We had a brilliant Christmas concert on 17 December. Christmas Cheer is always a popular occasion, with singalong carols, mince pies, mulled wine and/or soft drinks, and so it proved, with a near capacity audience at St Matthews. We are now hard at work rehearasing for our first concert of 2019, on 30 March. Our main piece is Mozart's glorious Coronation Mass, composed in 1779, when he was 23, already showing him at his most inspired and inventive. This is supported by Haydn's delicious Te Deum. There are two delightful orchestral works too, including Vivaldi's Concerto for two trumperts, which will feature our vice-president, the renowned Crispian Steele-Perkins. It promises to be a brilliant evening!
